Product Advice & Specification
Product selection, specifications, bulbs, finishes and visual guidance.
Can SW1 help me choose the right lighting for my space?
Yes. We can help narrow down suitable products based on room type, style, finish, scale, light output and intended use.
Where can I find product dimensions and technical information?
Dimensions, materials, finishes and technical information will be shown on the relevant product page wherever available.
Are bulbs included with your lights?
Bulbs are included only where this is clearly stated on the product page. Many decorative fittings are supplied without bulbs.
Do you offer finish samples?
Where available, finish samples or sample plates can be ordered to help assess colour, texture and material before a larger order is placed.
Will finishes match across lighting, switches, sockets and hardware?
Finishes may vary between product types, materials, suppliers and production batches. We recommend ordering samples where finish coordination is particularly important.
What colour temperature should I choose?
2700K is commonly selected for warmer residential interiors, while 3000K provides a slightly crisper warm white. The appropriate choice depends on the room and desired atmosphere.
Switches, Sockets & Controls
Plain-English support for electrical configuration.
What do 1-gang, 2-gang and 3-gang mean?
Gang refers to the number of switches, dimmers or controls on a plate. A 2-gang plate, for example, has two controls.
What is the difference between 1-way, 2-way and intermediate switching?
A 1-way switch controls a circuit from one location. A 2-way arrangement controls the same circuit from two locations. Intermediate switching is used for control from three or more locations.
Do switches and sockets require a specific back box?
Back-box requirements depend on the product, module depth and installation. Check the product specification and ask your electrician to confirm suitability before ordering.
Can I combine different modules on one plate?
Some ranges are modular and allow compatible switches, dimmers, sockets or data modules to be combined. Compatibility will be shown on the relevant product page.
Installation, Dimming & Safety
Installation responsibility, compatibility and safe use.
Who should install electrical products?
Electrical products should be installed by a suitably qualified electrician in accordance with the product instructions and applicable regulations.
Are all lights dimmable?
No. Dimming compatibility depends on the fitting, lamp, driver and dimmer. Check the product specification before ordering.
Why can LED lights flicker when dimmed?
Flicker can be caused by incompatible lamps, drivers or dimmers, an unsuitable minimum load or installation conditions. Your electrician should verify the complete dimming system.
Can I install a light in a bathroom?
Bathroom suitability depends on the installation zone, IP rating and applicable electrical requirements. Ask a qualified electrician to confirm suitability.
